This limited release captures the essence of the maverick Toshiie Maeda, a military commander renowned for being both a master spearman and the right-hand man of the shogun. Known by the name 'Mataza', given to him on his coming-of-age day, he was feared by all on the battlefield for his prowess with the spear. He ruled the area called Kaga (present-day Ishikawa Prefecture), now famous for its gold leaf production. Crafted with precision and passion, these jeans encapsulate two and a half decades of excellence in every stitch. Made from premium non-wash denim weighing 25oz, they promise awe-inspiring, high-contrast fades that only heavy-ounce denim can achieve. The gold details, along with the gold stitching, leather patch, and buttons, pay homage to Kaga. The buttons feature a plum and pine motif, with pine being pronounced "matsu" in Japanese, which was also the name of his wife. The plum was his family's crest.

As it is non-wash version, we highly recommend you soak the jeans in hot water before the first wear. Expect around 2,5cm (1in) of shrinkage in the waist and 6,4cm (2.5in) in the inseam when soaking so please, keep it in mind when looking for your size in the product size chart. As many other Samurai Jeans, the Ganryu-Jimai runs slightly small. In general, we recommend choosing one size larger than your usual. However, as always, we recommend checking the size chart first to find your perfect size.
